About the Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority
The Monongalia County SWA has a volunteer five-member board of directors who are in charge of managing the powers and duties of the Monongalia County SWA. The Director is the only employee and carries out the duties of the Monongalia County SWA. In order to host these events, or other larger activities, the Monongalia County SWA hires a minimal number of temporary staff, as necessary, to ensure a safe and successful event. Request for volunteers is the first priority to provide support for our events but does not always provide enough volunteers or none at all.
Despite the staffing and volunteer limits, the Monongalia County SWA has continued to provide these collection and pick up events to Monongalia County residents continuously, and successfully. In addition, these events have increased in number to allow for more residents to participate to recycle electronics, shred sensitive documents and benefit from reusable latex paint.

There will be another bid process due to the different funding sources used for each event.

As a public bid process, and public agency, working with the WV Department of Environment REAP Covered Electronics Devices Recycling grant, there is a presumption of public accessibility to all public records unless it meets an exception noted under WV Code Chapter 29B, Article 1, Section 4.
