How Do You Reduce Waste?
A Monongalia County Student Lesson Opportunity and Calendar Contest
Fall 2023

The Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority (MCSWA) and West Virginia Youth Environmental Program (YEP) are partnering to provide an educational opportunity for students on the importance of reducing waste going to the landfill.

As part of that lesson, we would like to invite students to submit their best artwork showcasing their ideas for reducing waste, or create a pledge showing how they will commit to reducing waste. The artwork and pledges will be entered into a contest with the winning entries to be included in the MCSWA's 2024 calendar. Pledges can be crafted individually, in groups or as a class.

To register your Classroom for this opportunity complete the Registration Form below.

What are we offering:

Lesson materials, “How to Reduce Food Waste” article, and 2023 Reduce Waste Pledge template will be provided to each participant (based on available copies).
●    A lesson plan and materials can be supplied to teachers who would like to teach the lesson and submit contest entries on their own. We can arrange to pick up the contest entries from your school.
